 Mission Statement

The great commissioning of Jesus Christ to His holy apostles is our mission statement:

"And Jesus coming, spoke to them, saying:

All power is given to me in heaven and in earth.

Going therefore, teach ye all nations; baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.

Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you:

and behold I am with you all days, even to the consummation of the world." St. Matthew 28:18-20

The following quote is going to hang around here a while:

"This is the great work of man:

always to take the blame for his own sins before God

and to expect temptation to his last breath." - St. Anthony the great

I am Father John Hartsfield. I serve as pastor of Corpus Christi Catholic Church here in Oneonta, Alabama. Corpus Christi Church is a holy place. Jesus and His people I serve make this place holy and sacred. I think our sweet blessed Jesus put me here so that they could help me on my own journey toward Heaven.

Mary, the Mother of Jesus Christ, was very sad when she held the corpse of her Son Jesus whom she had given birth to, feed, raised to become a man. If Jesus loved her, and as the Bible says - was obedient to her, why should you have a problem with her? You just love her the way her Son did and you might end up having a very nice seat in Heaven.

Hail Mary, full of grace. The Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou amongst women,
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God,
pray for us sinners,
now and at the hour of our death. Amen.
